E-commerce companies have upped their game dramatically, concentrating on new retailing models within the past few years.
Alibaba is the forerunner in this field with its Hema Fresh stores bringing dramatic changes to the traditional models. Recently the group has opened its second Hema store in Shenzhen, also the 30th store in China. This new store can hold nearly 3000 consumers shopping inside.
Variety is also key to this store. It has various seafood items such as imported Boston lobsters, box crabs and Russian king crabs in the section of fresh food.
Hema cooperates with foreign seafood facilities directly and their seafood can arrive in Shenzhen within two days. Pan, the Hema general manager for the South China region, said this ensures steady seafood supply and their freshness.
